Perfect cleaning at home and on the go
Low and medium pressure washers are still fairly new on the market. But because they don’t rely on an external power or water supply, they can open up completely new possibilities.
With a battery powered pressure washer, you can clean when and where you please! A Bosch low or medium pressure washer is the perfect cleaning buddy - it’s just so easy to use! A battery pressure washer is a mobile pressure washer, meaning you can store it comfortably in your home, or easily pack it with you on your camping trips.
Questions & Answers
Low and medium pressure washers, also called low pressure cleaners, work much like high pressure washers do. Special pumps in the device pressurise the water in the tank so that it comes out as a concentrated jet. Unlike high pressure washers, which operate at a pressure of more than 100 bar, they function at more gentle pressures of 50 bar and below.
As the name suggests, the difference is in the amount of water pressure the devices operate with. A low pressure cleaner will use a water pressure of between 5 and 20 bar, while a medium pressure washer can reach up to 50 bar.
Whether on the road or in the garden, low pressure washers remove dirt quickly and effectively. They can utilise water directly from the rainwater tank, or from a nearby lake or stream.
There are many advantages to low and medium pressure washers, but here are just a few of the most important benefits:
- A compact design with an integrated water tank and battery means low and medium pressure washers are also suitable for mobile use. They fit in any car boot, can be set up quickly and function independently of power and water connections.
- Easily usable wherever you are, low pressure washers are extremely versatile.
- Their gentle pressure means they are particularly suitable for delicate surfaces and valuables. The low water pressure and jet pattern on this power washer can be adjusted to suit the material and level of dirt you want to clean.
- Cleaning with a low pressure washer saves you so much time and energy compared to manual scrubbing methods.
- The low pressure used in the cleaning process is gentle and safe, meaning you can even use it to clean dirty paws and feet.
- Bosch low and medium pressure washers work with the 18V POWER FOR ALL battery system. This battery is compatible with all 18-volt devices from the wide range of power tools from Bosch Home & Garden.
Essentially, low and medium pressure washers are suitable for all applications where running water is required. They clean bikes, motorbikes, cars, barbecues, garden furniture, playground equipment, bins, shoes, and hiking boots efficiently and thoroughly.
Rough dirt on window frames and panes can also be washed using a low pressure on power washer devices, but for finer dirt on these surfaces it’s best to use a window vacuum cleaner.
Because they operate using a gentle stream of water, low pressure washers can even be used to rinse off dirty feet and dog paws. This way, the dirt stays where it belongs: outside.
This depends on what you want to clean.
A low pressure cleaner works independently from a power or water supply and is the ideal companion for portable use. The gentle pressure is also more suitable for delicate surfaces and materials, and particularly if you’re cleaning more sensitive areas. This is also recommended for valuable parts like bike seals and bearings, which would otherwise be ruined by high pressure jets.
On the other hand, if you want to get rid of really stubborn dirt or clean larger areas such as a patio, a high pressure washer is what you need.
Yes, as with other bikes, an electric bike can be cleaned easily and effectively using a low pressure washer. However, it is advisable to remove the electric bike’s battery and display before cleaning. Everything should be dried with a cloth before you reinsert both components.
Yes. Bosch mobile pressure washers can be operated using rainwater, or freshwater from a lake or stream. They can be filled with cool water from a wide variety of sources.
Generally, the jet of a low or medium pressure washer is strong enough to loosen a normal level of dirt. With more stubborn grime, such as grease residue on a grill, we recommend you use a cleaning brush alongside the pressure washer.
Top tip: For smaller surfaces, it is worth purchasing an electric cleaning brush to really help you get the grime out of those unreachable areas.
If you do decide to use a cleaning agent, a special cleaning bottle accessory which attaches to the spray gun will make your job easier. Find it in the Bosch Home & Garden range under accessories for pressure washers.
