How powerful a lawnmower is can be identified by the motor power in watts (W) for corded models. For cordless lawnmowers, two values are important: the battery voltage in volts (V) and the battery capacity in amp-hours (Ah). Bosch lawnmowers are available in various performance classes with both corded and battery power options—for different lawn sizes and environments.
The larger the area and the longer the grass blades that the lawnmower needs to cut, the more powerful the machine should be. In other words: if you have a small garden and mow your lawn frequently, a lower performance class machine will generally suffice. For larger gardens and longer mowing intervals, more power and longer battery runtime are required.

The cutting width refers to the width of the lawnmower blade and thus the width of the path the machine can trim. It plays a significant role in determining how quickly you complete the job. Bosch lawnmowers are available with cutting widths from 32 cm to 44 cm across the ROTAK18V range.

The required cutting width depends on the size and layout of your lawn area. For smaller and medium-sized areas, between 32 and 40 cm is sufficient. The same applies to gardens with many tight corners and narrow passages. For larger lawn areas of 500 m² or more, cutting widths above 40 cm are recommended.

Another important dimension is the cutting height. This indicates how high or how short the grass can be mowed.
