Introduction
All power tools are operated with just one shared 18-volt rechargeable battery.
Let's go - step by step
On both plywood boards (9 × 400 × 1,000 mm), draw a rectangle with 60 mm between the sides of the rectangle and the edge of the board. Then on both boards, draw another rectangle inside this rectangle, but with a distance of 120 mm between the sides of the rectangle and the edge of the board (see diagram). Next, position the compass at the corners of the inner rectangle and draw a circle with a diameter of 120 mm. This will be used to round the corners of the outer rectangle (see diagram).
Use the PST 18 LI cordless jigsaw to cleanly cut out the outer rectangle (60 mm from the edge of the board). To create an opening in the board for the jigsaw so you can start cutting, first drill a hole into a point on the outer rectangle using the AdvancedImpact 18 cordless drill and an 8 mm wood drill bit. During the drilling and cutting process, secure everything with two clamps.
Take the two plywood cut-outs created in the previous step and use the AdvancedCut 18 cordless saw to cut them into four pieces each (measuring 3 × 60 × approx. 880 mm).
Then take the eight, evenly cut pieces (6 × 60 × approx. 880 mm; 2 × 30 × approx. 880 mm) and use the AdvancedCut 18 to cut them to the following lengths:
Pieces measuring 60 mm in width: 4 × 400 mm, 4 × 558 mm, 4 × 258 mm
Pieces measuring 30 mm in width: 4 × 400 mm
Then on each of the cut 16 pieces, use the AdvancedImpact 18 and an 8 mm wood drill bit to pre-drill into the centre of each narrow end 30 mm from the edge. Use a wood drill bit to pre-drill one hole each into the centre of the large wooden pieces (60 × 400 mm and 60 × 558 mm). Then rework all of the holes with the AdvancedImpact 18 and a countersink bit
Tip: secure the boards with two clamps each to achieve a clean result and stay safe while you work.
To achieve clean, finished edges, sand the cut edges and pre-drilled holes until smooth with the PSM 18 LI cordless multi-sander and 120 grit sandpaper. Secure the workpieces with two clamps during this process.
On the long sides of the two door frames, mark out one point each 650 mm from the outer shorter edge.
Then cut the hessian into two pieces measuring approx. 700 × 390 mm. Place the cut fabric on the doors so that they lay approx. 50 mm beyond the previously marked points but do not stick out over the other side of the frame.
Then use the AdvancedImpact 18 and two wood screws (3.5 × 16 mm) to screw one of the 30 × 400 mm wooden pieces each at the markings so that the pieces are flush with the frame. In the process, make sure that the hessian lays smooth and taut between the two workpieces. Next, screw one of the 60 × 400 mm wooden pieces to the top end of the door so that the piece is flush with the frame (use three of the 3.5 × 16 mm wood screws for this). In the process, make sure that the hessian remains smooth and taut. Screw one 60 × 558 mm wooden piece each to the frame along the two long sides of the fabric which are still open (use three of the 3.5 × 16 mm wood screws for this).
Cut the rattan webbing into two pieces measuring 400 × 390 mm. Then attach the rattan to the open bottom section of the frame using the same method and tools as for the hessian (AdvancedImpact 18 and 3.5 × 16 mm wood screws). Make sure that the rattan only sticks out on the side where the hessian is sticking out (the back side of the door, in the middle). Fold the overlapping pieces of fabric and webbing up between the two 30 mm wooden pieces, secure them here first and then screw the wooden piece on. Cut away the excess hessian and rattan sticking out from between the 30 mm wooden pieces. Repeat the steps with the eight remaining wooden pieces (from step 2) to complete the second door.
Finally, use the screw-on hinges and the AdvancedImpact 18 to attach the boho sideboard doors to the shelving unit (follow the manufacturer’s instructions). The trendy boho sideboard is now ready to shine in your home!
