Questions & Answers about Self Priming Kit
All our Bosch high pressure washers are suitable for self priming.
The self priming hose can be used with many alternative water sources (e.g. Rain barrel, pond, water tank, bucket of water…)
You can connect the pressure washer to a water tank with a suitable tap outlet. You will only need a standard garden supply hose for this and not a self priming hose. You would operate this the same way as with an outdoor mains garden tap. If your water tank hasn’t got a suitable outlet and it is an open top tank, please check the section on ‘how to set up a self priming hose?’
Yes, this helps with priming the hose.
Inlet strainer with non-return valve
3m reinforced supply hose
Universal coupling for the pressure washer
For open tanks, natural water sources and containers: fully immerse the 3 m hose into the water to displace the air in the hose. Connect the 3 m hose to the pressure washer and make sure that the inlet strainer remains under water. With the spray gun removed, switch the pressure washer on and operate it until water flows uniformly out of the high-pressure
hose. If no water is coming out of the high-pressure hose after 25 seconds, switch the pressure washer off and check all connections. As soon as water flows out of the high-pressure hose, switch the pressure washer off and connect the spray gun and spray lance to begin with the work. It is important that hose and couplings are of good quality and
are tightly connected, and that the seals are undamaged and properly inserted. Loose connections can impede the priming
(drawing in).
Although the distance to the high pressure washer is irrelevant to the performance of the priming, the water source must not be lower than 0.5m to be able to draw water up. Please note the longer the distance the longer it will take the water to travel to the higher pressure washer.
