The products of Robert Bosch Power Tools GmbH are developed and produced according to high quality standards and in accordance with the generally accepted rules of technology. The technical data and functions of our products are regularly checked during development and in series production by application of statistical methods. Through this, we ensure that the products meet our quality standards and the expectations of the users as far as possible.
It is normal, however, that the actual performance of a power tool varies from device to device. The specific application of a tool and environmental conditions have a significant influence. The respective technical information, e.g. on packaging and in manuals, refers to average values and applies to the products and their accessories when new. Below you can find an exemplary overview of the most important influencing factors on the actual performance of a power tool with respect to its application and the environmental conditions.
The battery runtime of our cordless tools depends on several influencing factors such as, e.g.
Longest runtime can be typically achieved under no-load conditions.
The charging time of our batteries depends on several influencing factors such as, e.g. …
The drilling performance of our power tools depends on several influencing factors such as, e.g. …
the type, quality & status of the drill bit fits to the application
diameter of drill bit, depending on the material type
externally applied load profile, which also depends on material properties of the work piece (e.g. hardness and density), drilling diameter, depth of drilling etc.
rotational speed: please use 2nd gear and full throttle for full speed; we recommend to not continually work in half throttle mode for increased tool lifetime
work techniques, e.g. force that is applied by the operator
battery type and state of charge
The screwing performance of our power tools depends on several influencing factors such as, e.g. …
externally applied load profile, which depends on material properties of the work piece (e.g. hardness and density), dimensions of the screws etc.
type, quality & status of
bits (fits to the application)
screws (full / partial thread, head type, coating, quality, etc.)
rotational speed (please use 1st gear for higher soft torque)
battery type and state of charge
work techniques, e.g. force that is applied by the operator
The sawing, routing and cutting performance of our power tools depends on several influencing factors such as, e.g. …
The sanding, grinding and planning performance of our power tools depends on several influencing factors such as, e.g. …
The impact, stroke and orbit rate, as well as the chain speed of our power tools, depends on several influencing factors such as, e.g. …
The rotational speed of our power tools is indicated as a maximum value under no-load conditions that is not exceeded in order to avoid accidents with unsuitable accessories. It depends on several influencing factors such as, e.g. …
The torque (soft, hard, max.) of our power tools depends on several influencing factors such as, e.g. …
The impact energy of our power tools depends on several influencing factors such as, e.g. …
Vibration level and noise emission values are measured in accordance with a standardized measuring procedure, e.g. EN 62841‑2‑11.
The stated vibration level and noise emission values represent the main applications of the power tool. However, if the power tool is used for other applications, with different or worn-out accessories or is poorly maintained, the vibration level and noise emission value may differ. This may significantly increase the vibration and noise emissions over the total working period.
On high pressure washers, the maximum pressure is the initial pressure inside the pump after the machine is turned on and before the trigger on the lance is released. This is a mandatory value to be communicated for safety reasons: only accessories shall be used which are qualified for this maximum pressure.
It is not equivalent with the constant operating pressure that can be measured at the outlet of a hose or lance during application.
The operating pressure and the flow rate of our high pressure washers, spray guns, air pumps and leaf blowers is depending on several factors such as, e.g.…
The work progress, e.g. in m²/min for paint spray guns, also depends on the working speed of the operator and individual preferences (e.g. coverage in one stroke vs coverage in 2-3 strokes).
The electrical input power of our power tools mainly depends on the electrical input voltage & current from the operator’s power supply network.
The shredding ratio of our garden tools depends on several influencing factors such as, e.g. …
The luminous power of our lamps depends on several influencing factors such as, e.g. …
The gluing capacity of our glue guns depends on several influencing factors such as, e.g. …
The heat up time of our glue guns mainly depends the ambient temperature and the initial temperature of the glue gun.
The airflow temperature of heat guns mainly depends on the working distance between nozzle and work piece. The warm-up cycle needs to be completed for optimal results.
The recommended lawn size is a value that is intended to help a customer in making a decision which lawn mower model is suitable for individual needs. The lawn size is typically smaller than the total garden size. For different lawn size categories (e.g. 200m², 500m², 700m² and others), we offer suitable lawn mower models. They differ for example in bowl diameter and cutting blade size.
The cutting width is depending on the cutting blade size. Operating a lawn mower with a larger cutting blade will lead to an increased cutting width and faster work progress during lawn mowing.
The height of cut can be adjusted on most lawn mower models to pre-defined levels. This is dependant on manufacturing tolerances of mechanical parts of the lawn mower, and environmental conditions such as the flatness, hydration and condition of the lawn (e.g. presence of thatch, disease).
