Build your own stylish indoor bicycle rack

You need: Cordless drill/driver, Träspiralborrsats, 8 delar, g-clamps, pencil, folding rule, One plywood board, 45 x 30 x 1.8 cm

Using a 4 mm Brad point drill bit, start by drilling eight holes into the larger plywood board (45 x 30 cm) for the shelf boards and for attaching the unit to the wall (see diagrams in figure 2).

You need: Cordless drill/driver, Träspiralborrsats, 8 delar, Multi-sander, Sanding sheet, Blandade satser med bits, corner clamps, masking tape, pencil, Geodreieck, folding rule, Two plywood boards, 30 x 28.2 x 1.8 cm, Four 40 x 4 mm countersunk screws, Paint set (2.5 cm flat brush, roller, paint tray), Pink paint (approx. 345 ml)

Then use the 90° corner clamps to attach both plywood boards to the plywood board you just prepared and screw the boards together using countersunk screws. Tip: Pre-drilling the holes with a 3 mm Brad point drill bit can prevent the wood splitting. Make sure you correctly place the boards here: The first plywood board is below the drill holes, which are 0.9 cm from the top edge. The second plywood board is placed under the drill holes at a distance of 28 cm from the edge. In the next step, sand the entire unit with 120-grain sandpaper and use the paint set to add some colour to it.  We’ve gone for a fancy pink colour.

You need: Cordless drill/driver, 5 mm metal drill bit, g-clamps, masking tape, pencil, folding rule, Two acrylic sheets, 45 x 30 x 0.8 cm

Now place the two acrylic sheets (45 x 30 cm) on top of each other and use masking tape to prevent them moving around. Make sure that the masking tape covers the places where you need to drill (figure 1). This trick prevents the acrylic sheets splintering. Then mark the points indicated on the diagram (figure 2) and drill the holes using the 5 mm metal drill bit.

You need: Jigsaws, Jigsaw Blade, g-clamps, masking tape, pencil, folding rule, Two acrylic sheets, 45 x 30 x 0.8 cm

Now your bike needs the right hanger to make sure that the presentation is complete. To do so, use the template (figure 2) to draw identical cut-outs on each acrylic sheet and then saw them out using a jigsaw blade for plastic. To prevent splintering, you should cover the area with masking tape before you start.

You need: Multi-sander, Sanding sheet, g-clamps, Acrylic sheets from step 4

You then need to remove the burrs along the cut edges on the acrylic sheets from the cut-outs using 120-grain sandpaper, and then rounding off and smoothing out any sharp edges.

You need: Cordless drill/driver, Träspiralborrsats, 8 delar, Blandade satser med bits, The Bosch Rotary hammers, Drill Bit Set, pocket rule, pencil, g-clamps, Four 50 x 4.5 mm metal screws with rubber seal, Fourteen 35 x 4.5 mm metal screws with rubber seal, Four 5 mm anchors

Finally, place both acrylic sheets flush (see figure) with the edges of the unit and pre-drill the holes with a 3 mm Brad point drill bit. Now just screw everything together using 35 x 4.5 mm metal screws and the stylish indoor bike rack is ready. In order to hang the rack on the wall, drill the corresponding holes for the wall mounting (see template from step 1) with a rotary hammer and a 5 mm concrete drill bit. Use 50 x 4.5 mm metal screws and 5 mm anchors to mount the bicycle rack on the wall. Once everything is securely attached, you can hang your room’s new centrepiece on the wall.
