Getting started

Bend the wire into a V shape

You need: metal wire

Start by taking some of the wire, fold it in half and then bend into a V shape.

Step 2 4

Start threading

Add the beads to the wire

You need: beads

Time to start decorating the wire, use beads from craft shops or from an old beaded jewellery, it’s really up to you what colour beads you use, in this example we used red. Once you’re happy with your beads, start threading them onto both ends of the wire and continue until all the wire is covered leaving about 5cm bare at each end to form the hanging loop.

Step 3 4

Creating the curve

Twist the wire together to secure the beads

You need: pliers

Hold the wire ends and bend inward to create the curved top of the heart. Then twist the ends together to prevent the beads from falling off. This may be easier with pliers.

Finishing touches

You need: ribbon

Next add a feature bead, we used a flower bead but you can use whatever you like, to the centre of the heart and twist the wire upwards to secure. Once this is done add a ribbon and your beaded heart is complete. It really is as simple as that. Just repeat the process so you have enough hearts to make a garland.
