The Bosch window vacuum: a clear choice
Window cleaning is not the most popular of household tasks. A window vacuum won’t do your job for you, but it’ll make it ten times faster and will help you clean easier and much more thoroughly.
Plus, a vacuum cleaner for window cleaning can be used for different things that muddy your windows. Need a window condensation vacuum, for example? Bosch has what you need. Our glass vacuum cleaners work on any type of glass too, whether it’s home or car windows.
Questions & Answers
Cordless window vacuums work similarly to traditional squeegees, but with one big difference. With a squeegee, you have to wipe up the water that collects on the windowpanes by hand. A window vacuum, on the other hand, sucks liquids directly from the window surface into an integrated tank, by using a mechanism similar to a regular household vacuum.
The terms "electric window vacuum" and "electric window cleaner" are usually used interchangeably for various devices that are designed to make window cleaning easier and more effective. In addition to window vacuums, there are also window cleaning robots and battery-powered window wipers.
Intelligent window cleaning robots work independently, at least in theory. They clean windows by themselves but do need to be constantly monitored when they’re operating. They are also relatively complicated to install. While many battery-powered window wipers are a good replacement for a spray bottle and a cloth, they do not have a suction function.
Unfortunately, a window vacuum cleaner does not do all the window cleaning, as a surface must be pre-cleaned before use. However, with the right tricks, this can be done quickly and easily.
First, apply a cleaning agent using the spray bottle included with Bosch window vacuums. Next, clean the surface with a microfiber cloth. Once these two quick steps are out the way, the window vacuum cleaner can then be used. Use it at a 45-degree angle and wipe the window’s surface in long strokes from top to bottom. In tighter areas, a horizontal direction is also possible.
A glass or window cleaning agent is necessary for use with a window vacuum. However, harmful cleaning agents can damage the window vacuum. For best results, use the Bosch GlassVac cleaning concentrate, which can be found among the accessories for window vacuums.
Window vacuums are not just suitable for window cleaning, they can also be used to clean other surfaces – provided they are smooth and waterproof. These include tiles, mirrors, glass tables and doors, showers, car windows, and stoves. Even condensation, splashes, and spills can be cleaned up. For larger spills and puddles, however, a wet and dry vacuum cleaner is recommended. Corners, edges, and stubborn dirt are best cleaned with an electric cleaning brush.
Which window vacuum cleaner is the best depends on various factors and, of course, the requirements of the user:
- Manageability: how easy is the device to operate?
- Wiping performance: How thoroughly does the window vacuum clean?
- Battery life: How long does the window vacuum run before the battery needs to be charged?
- Equipment and availability of spare parts: Are spray bottle and various attachments included? Are wiper blades and microfiber covers available separately?
With a window vacuum, the work is not only easier, but also faster. The advantages of Bosch cordless window vacuums at a glance:
- Window vacuums suck the dirty water away without leaving any residue. Dry and streak-free surfaces are left behind.
- The compact design allows for easy handling. Even hard-to-reach places and corners can be cleaned conveniently.
- Bosch window vacuums score with a long battery runtime of 30 minutes. That's enough for an area of 105 square meters or for up to 35 windows.
- Thanks to micro USB connection, the window vacuums can be charged anywhere. A separate power supply unit is not required.
- Bosch offers a wide range of accessories for its window vacuums – from wiper blades to microfiber cloths and cleaning concentrate.
Bosch window vacuums are equipped with special wiper blades that were originally developed for the automotive industry. Our years of experience in this sector have led us to creating the patented “power protection plus” rubber coating, which guarantees effortless gliding of the wiper blade and perfect cleaning performance. The surface is left without streaks, and there are no annoying squeaking noises as you clean.
The dirty water is sucked up into the collection chamber of the cordless window vacuum as you clean. As soon as the maximum volume is reached, the tank should be emptied. To do this, simply remove the rubber stopper in the vacuum and pour out the liquid. Your hands will stay clean, and the device is immediately ready to use again.
Yes, a window vacuum cleaner can also be used to clean window frames. But, since the surface is very narrow, a small suction head is recommended.
