Cordless window vacuums work similarly to traditional squeegees, but with one big difference. With a squeegee, you have to wipe up the water that collects on the windowpanes by hand. A window vacuum, on the other hand, sucks liquids directly from the window surface into an integrated tank, by using a mechanism similar to a regular household vacuum.
The terms "electric window vacuum" and "electric window cleaner" are usually used interchangeably for various devices that are designed to make window cleaning easier and more effective. In addition to window vacuums, there are also window cleaning robots and battery-powered window wipers.
Intelligent window cleaning robots work independently, at least in theory. They clean windows by themselves but do need to be constantly monitored when they’re operating. In tighter areas, a horizontal direction is also possible.
A glass or window cleaning agent is necessary for use with a window vacuum. However, harmful cleaning agents can damage the window vacuum. For best results, use the Bosch GlassVac cleaning concentrate, which can be found among the accessories for window vacuums.
Window vacuums are not just suitable for window cleaning, they can also be used to clean other surfaces – provided they are smooth and waterproof. These include tiles, mirrors, glass tables and doors, showers, car windows, and stoves. Even condensation, splashes, and spills can be cleaned up. For larger spills and puddles, however, a wet and dry vacuum cleaner is recommended. Corners, edges, and stubborn dirt are best cleaned with an electric cleaning brush.
